echo productions

still an artist

A sudden spark, and everything you know changes.

Existence can’t be the same.

You ignite, you’re actualized.

More promising than the endless pursuit of profit within a system designed to stifle our humanity

Instead the opportunity to connect with the essence of another

An exchange of emotional understanding like magic

You’re realized.

An artist.

As time moves ever forward, we find the artist tirelessly navigating a landscape where their talents are undervalued and their livelihoods precarious.

Frequently seeking hope and purpose within the singular objective presented: the elusive oasis in the bewildering desert, ‘the commercial industry’.

Enduring that industry’s toxic urgency and impossible expectations.

Accepting the way it pits us against each other and crushes the confidence and dignity of those who don’t succeed.

And why wouldn’t they? All of their training and all the signals they’ve received throughout life have indicated that it is the pinnacle of greatness, the ultimate marker of success. To ‘make it’.

This relentless assault on artists’ confidence and identity often robs them of their initial inspiration, extinguishing the transformative spark that ignited their passion. As a result, the world is deprived of their unique perspectives, and we inadvertently contribute to the demise of our Culture.

Echo Production aims to foster a nurturing environment for performing artists to reignite their creative sparks, rebuild their confidence within a supportive community, and celebrate artistic practice for its own sake. We are here to affirm:

You are STILL AN ARTIST.

– Victoria Fuller, Artistic Director

Echo is an inclusive, consent-forward community theatre project. Our focus is to collectively heal as artists – to nurture and protect our spark while navigating late stage capitalism at its most exploitative. To create thought-provoking, politically relevant work while utilizing multiple modes of artistic expression.
