Roles Available:

• Annie – Vibrant, dramatic, chaotic, funny, and longing for a bigger life. Seasick, lovesick, and full of heart. Strong comedic and emotional range.

• Michael – Warm, playful, devoted, and grounded. Represents safety and domestic hope. 

• Samuel – Michael’s friend.  Quiet, simple, somewhat oblivious. A comedic role with understated charm.

• Jim – Michael’s Friend.  Quiet, grounded figure with subtle comedic energy.

• Joan – Kitty’s / Annie’s friend.  Warmth, humour, and strong ensemble timing.

• Helen – Kitty / Annie’s friend.  Warmth, humour, and strong ensemble timing.

• Henry – A steward aboard the Florizel. Helpful, patient, and sincere.

• 3rd Officer Phil Jackman – Charming, rogue-ish, and humorous.  Inquisitive and intelligent, yet bound by strict Naval hierarchy / decorum.

• Chief Engineer Reader – High-ranking, experienced Naval Engineer and old Sea Dog.  Uses rank to hide a massive secret and ends up as the architect of the disaster.

• Betty Munn – A child passenger on the Florizel. Confident, imaginative, and bright. Performers approx. age 8–12.

• John / William – A spirited child (approx. age 9) who can be played by a slightly older performer. Energetic, joyful, curious.

• Young Kitty / Victoria – A young girl (approx. age 7) who is as curious as her older brother but held down by strict societal norms

• Kitty & John’s Father – Firm, traditional, and protective. Represents the chivalrous overprotectiveness of women.

• Victoria & William’s Mother – More modern, but still a product of / perpetuator of traditional gender roles

• The Beachcomber – A poetic, philosophical, narrator-like presence with humour and sorrow.

• Betty’s Father – Gentle, patient, and quietly indulgent.
